Speaking With Passion

Welcome back. Steve here and I want to dole out a little advice on how to bring more success to your personal and business life. Let's get started. Today's lesson is going to be on 1 of 3 skills that you can improve today for a brighter future tomorrow.

3 Skills You Can Improve Today

If you want to make a big impact on your career you will want to improve these 3 basic business skills. These skills are what have helped Fortune 500 CEO's like Warren Buffet and James McNerney build an incredible fortune. Both men have been quoted more than once that the best business investment is in yourself. Learning and improving on your own business skills will enable you to engage more confidently and have a sphere of influence. So, what are these skills?

  1. PUBLIC SPEAKING - Have game plan!

  2. NEGOTIATING SKILLS - Knowing what to say!

  3. MEMORY SKILLS - Never confuse Pat with Matt again!

Let's break these down one at a time.

Public Speaking can be a scary prospect but if you can put a nail in these 3 key ideas you will conquer the fear.
  • Stage Podiums make bad windows for the audience. Stay clear from them if possible and use a mike while wandering the stage. Get connected with the audience.

  • Eye Contact is essential. It is your friend and can help make the crowd/room seem smaller.

  • Questions. Don't get stumped. Talk about your team of experts. That's why your the boss. Let the person know that you will get them in touch with your expert team member later.
Ok, there you have it in a nutshell. Public Speaking 101. This is only the first skill but a very important one. Maybe this is your only weak area. Join a speaking club like Toastmasters International, purchase self-help books or audio courses that focus on public speaking. The small investment may be the most important one for your business success.

To Your Success!
